French Classes & Public Speaking Instrcutor: Mary J. Runion Mary Runion is a graduate from New Haven High School where she completed 4 Levels (8 condensed quarters) of French using the curriculum Discovering French by Valette & Valette. Her senior year, Mrs. Runion spent 6 months in France through AYUSA International as a French Student, living with a host family and attending the local “Lycée” (High School). Among the places she has visited is Paris, Bordeaux, La Rochelle, L’isle de Ré, Beynac, and Ste. Emillion, visiting historical places such as Chateaux Chasse Spleen, Chateaux Beynac, the catacombs of Ste. Emillion, the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre, and the Arch de Triumphe.
Upon her return, Mary completed two years of College French including translation, and two 300 level French classes at IPFW. Her experiences will be used to enhance and expand the students’understanding if a whole new language, culture and way of life! Of course matched with her intesity of the French language is that English speaking as well. She has researched several books for her public speaking class and really loves the curriculum chosen below.
